Bishop Nelson Perez told a gathering of donors at the annual Deo Gratias Mass on Nov. 19 that the day?s Gospel was apropos because its takeaway message was about being hopeful and giving.
?You make the works of the Church happen through your generosity,? Bishop Perez said.
In his homily, the bishop relayed -- from the Gospel of St. Matthew -- the story of the servants to whom their master?s funds were entrusted.
