Father Mark A. DiNardo – Bishop Anthony Pilla will be the primary celebrant at the 11 a.m. Jan. 26 funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church, 3602 Bridge Ave., Cleveland, for Father Mark A. DiNardo, senior priest-retired. Homilist will be Father Tom O’Donnell.

The wake will begin with vespers at 3 p.m. Jan. 25 at St. Patrick Church. Father John Manning will be the presider and Father Jim O’Donnell will be the homilist. The wake will continue until 8 p.m.

Father DiNardo, 85, died on Jan. 21.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1932 to the late Pietro and Eleonora (Discenza) and was educated at Anthony Wayne School, Audubon Junior High School and Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland; St. Charles Seminary, Catonsville, Maryland, and St. Mary Seminary, Cleveland.

Archbishop Edward Hoban ordained him to the priesthood on May 24, 1958 for service of the Diocese of Cleveland.

Father DiNardo served as parochial vicar of Holy Rosary Parish, Cleveland, until June 14, 1962, when he was transferred to Epiphany Parish, Cleveland.

In September 1967, he pursued graduate studies at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Father DiNardo was appointed assistant to the superintendent of schools in September 1970, with residence at St. Colman Parish in Cleveland. In addition, on Jan. 12, 1971, he was appointed assistant to the director of religious education.

On Aug. 1, 1980, Father DiNardo was appointed co-pastor of St. Patrick Parish (Bridge Avenue). He was named pastor on Nov. 24, 1983. In addition, Father DiNardo served as chaplain for the Port Authority of Cleveland. He also served five terms as presbyteral convener for the Cleveland Central West District between 1994 and 2015. He retired on July 20, 2017.

Father DiNardo was known as a true servant leader, giving himself completely to the service of the people entrusted to his care.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.
