About 150 religious sisters, associates, members of the Coalition with Young Adults and others gathered the afternoon of March 10 at Magnificat High School in Rocky River for ?Celebrate Catholic Sisters: Turning to Each Other.?
The event, sponsored by the Conference of Religious Leadership, Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland and Coalition with Young Adults, was part of the diocesan observance of National Catholic Sisters Week, March 8-14.
Attendees were welcomed by Moira Clark, president of Magnificat High School; Erin McIntyre, who works with the Sisters of Charity Foundation to support Catholic sisters and their ministries; Sister Marian Durkin, CSA, a foundation board member; and Sister Margaret Taylor, SIW, CORL leadership.
Bishop Nelson Perez provided some opening remarks and offered prayer and a blessing for the attendees.
?Blessed are we among women,? he said, scanning the room, which was filled primarily with women.
?Who you are is a lot more than what you do,? he said, adding that the sisters set an example for others through their vows and how they live them.
