Clergy Assignment Changes - March 26, 2018

Father Arnel A. Lagman, with the permission of the Rev. Jose Roel D. Casas, diocesan administrator of the Prelate of Isabela, Basilan Philippines, was appointed parochial vicar, Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, and spiritual director to the Filipino Catholics who live in the Diocese of Cleveland, effective Feb. 12.

Father James P. O?Donnell, director, Central City Ministry with the Poor, Cleveland, received permission to retire effective Feb. 23.

Father Juancho Ramos, SSS with the permission of the Very Rev. Anthony Schueller, SSS, provincial superior of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, was appointed parochial vicar, St. Paschal Baylon Parish, Highland Heights, and part-time chaplain at Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights, effective Feb. 15.

Father Thomas Chillikulam, SJ parochial vicar, Gesu Parish, University Heights, was transferred out of the Diocese of Cleveland effective immediately.

Father Harry Gensler, SJ faculty, John Carroll University, was transferred to St. Ignatius House in Chicago effective immediately.

Father Damian J. Ference, faculty, Borromeo Seminary, Wickliffe, was granted permission to pursue an advanced degree at the Angelicum in Rome for doctoral studies in philosophy effective July 1.

Father Patrick J. Anderson, parochial vicar, St. Mary Parish, Hudson, concludes his assignment and was appointed director of human formation, Borromeo Seminary, Wickliffe. In addition, he was granted permission to pursue a master?s degree in counseling at John Carroll University, effective June 12.

Father Salvatore Ruggeri, pastor, St. John of the Cross Parish, Euclid, was appointed pastor, Holy Angels Parish, Bainbridge, effective May 1.

Father Ralph W. Thomas concludes his appointment as administrator of Holy Angels Parish, Bainbridge, effective May 1.

Father William A. Smith, chaplain, St. John Medical Center, Westlake, was appointed pastor, Our Lady of Grace Parish, Hinckley, effective May 1. This appointment is in addition to his appointment as director of pastoral care services and health affairs of the Diocese of Cleveland.
