A dozen Catholic cemeteries will host special Memorial Day Masses on May 28 once again this year. Many of the Masses will be outdoors, so those attending are reminded to dress for the weather and to bring lawn chairs.
Father Luigi Miola, pastor of St. Martin of Tours Parish in Maple Heights will celebrate the 10 a.m. Mass at All Saints Cemetery, 480 Highland Road, Northfield.
Father Fred Pausche, pastor of St. Gabriel Parish in Concord, will celebrate an outdoor Mass at 10 a.m. at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Road, Chardon.
In honor of the 125th anniversary of Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, Bishop Nelson Perez will celebrate an outdoor Mass at 10 a.m. Calvary is at 10000 Miles Ave.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 555 N. Ridge Road W., Lorain, by Father Frank Kosem, pastor of St. Jude Parish in Elyria.
An outdoor Mass will be celebrated, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E. Waterloo Road, Akron, by Father Thomas McCann, retired pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls.
Father James Kulway, parochial vicar at Mary Queen of the Apostles in Brook Park, will celebrate an outdoor Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park.
Father Bob Kraig, recently retired pastor of St. John Neumann Parish in Strongsville, will celebrate an outdoor Mass at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, 6303 Center Road, Valley City.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, 32789 Detroit Road, Avon, by Father Gerald Keller, retired pastor of St. Adalbert Parish in Berea.
Mercederian Father James Mayer, pastor of St. Rocco Parish, Cleveland, will celebrate an outdoor Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, 2677 W. 41st St., Cleveland.
Father Ralph Hudak, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cleveland, will celebrate a 9 a.m. outdoor Mass at St. Mary Cemetery, 4720 E. 71st St., Cuyahoga Heights.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Cemetery, 7284 Lake Ave., Elyria, by Father Albert Veigas, pastor of St. Agnes Parish in Elyria.
And Father Wally Hyclak, pastor of St. Mary of the Falls Parish, will celebrate Mass at 9 a.m. in the church, 25616 Bagley Road, Olmsted Falls.
