Our community comes together in mourning over the loss of a valiant member of law enforcement who gave his life this past Sunday in the line of duty. City of Mentor Police Officer Mathew Mazany was a beloved member of the safety forces community in Northeast Ohio who made the ultimate sacrifice in faithfully carrying out his duty to protect and defend the citizens he served. This tragic incident is another example of the significant risks taken and the dangers encountered by the brave men and women serving in our safety forces.
Together we pray for Officer Mazany, his family, friends and all our safety forces who routinely go into harm?s way to keep us safe. May our witness of prayer and solidarity help bring solace and strength to his family members and all those who grieve the loss of Officer Mazany. And may the God of all love and compassion bring consolation and healing to our community in the wake of this heartbreaking loss.
