The Catholic Community Foundation has made a recent distribution in the amount of $672,761 to the Office of Catechetical Formation and Education to provide assistance to a total of 75 Catholic schools and parish catechetical programs in the Diocese of Cleveland. Grants have been awarded to help fund faith formation for children, young adults and adults, as well as school curriculum and textbooks, upgrades to technology, school safety enhancements, progress in STREAM programs, and more initiatives to advance 21st-century learning.
The distribution was funded through the generosity of all parishes in the Diocese – pastors, parochial vicars, volunteers, and parishioners – through the historic Rooted in Faith – Forward in Hope fundraising campaign, which in the last decade raised $170 million in support of campaign case components that benefit diocesan and parish ministries in the eight counties of the Diocese of Cleveland (Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Wayne).
“Supporting Catholic education and faith formation is essential to carrying out the mission of the Church in Northeast Ohio,” says Most Reverend Nelson J. Perez, Bishop of Cleveland. “These grants celebrate the generosity of the faithful and their commitment to the nearly 42,000 students in the Diocese of Cleveland. This generosity bears fruit that will change lives in our community and ultimately impact the world in which we live.”
