Holy Father grants plenary indulgence for victims of coronavirus as well as those who pray for them
His Holiness, Pope Francis, seeking to convey God’s mercy and comfort to people everywhere suffering during the Covid-19 pandemic, has granted a plenary indulgence under specific conditions to all the faithful who are victims of the Coronavirus, as well as to their family members, health care workers, and all others who care for them, including those who simply pray for them.

Included also are those who are subject to quarantine. A plenary indulgence removes all of the temporal punishment due for sins committed after baptism and already absolved through the sacrament of penance. The conditions of the indulgence include a detachment from sin, an intention to unite spiritually through the media to the celebration of Mass, the recitation of the Rosary, the Way of the Cross or other forms of devotion, with the recitation of the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, invoking the intercession of the Blessed Mother, and prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, along with the usual conditions when they become possible (sacramental confession and Eucharistic communion).
