A funeral Mass for Father Andrew Beaudoin will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights. Masks and physical distancing are required; there is a limit of 300 people in the church. The liturgy will be livestreamed on the parish Facebook page.
Father Beaudoin, 92, died on Nov. 6.
He was born on Feb. 14, 1928 to the late Philip and Ida (Rivard) Beaudoin in Sanford, Maine. Two sisters, Agnes and Hedy, preceded him in death. Two other sisters, Nancy in Maine and Rose in Flushing, New York, survive.
Father Beaudoin professed his vows with the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament on Oct. 9, 1949. He was ordained to the priesthood on Sept. 26, 1954.
After ordination, he served at St. Paschal Baylon Parish in Highland Heights and at St. Jean Baptiste Parish in New York City. For many years he also served in the Tampa, Florida area as a chaplain to St. Joseph Hospital and he assisted at some parishes in the Diocese of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Those who knew him said Father Beaudoin was thought of fondly by his family, friends and parishioners. They said he served the Church as a faithful religious priest of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament.
The rite of committal will be private.
