On this Passover, the celebration that commemorates the saving power of God who freed the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt as recounted in the Old Testament Book of Exodus, I would like to acknowledge our common roots in the history of salvation and extend to the Jewish Community of Northeast Ohio my sincere best wishes for the great Passover feast.
With increasing anti-Semitism around us, I wish to echo the blessing of Pope Francis: "May the Almighty, who has freed His beloved people from slavery and led them to the Promised Land, accompany you even today with the abundance of His blessings.”
May the Almighty bless you during these Holy Days and, most especially during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, may he protect you from illness and grant you good health. Be assured of my prayers for all of you as I am also grateful for your prayers for me.
