Catholic Community Foundation announces new board chair, officers, board members

The Catholic Community Foundation, a supporting organization of the Diocese of Cleveland, announces the appointment of Andrew Schuler as the new chair of its board of directors. He assumes the position held for the past two years by Rob Rogers.

Schuler joined the Catholic Community Foundation Board of Directors in 2013, after previously serving on the board of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. He was a member of the Audit and Executive committees and has served as the board vice chair since 2020. Currently employed as the investment managing director at PNC Private Bank, Schuler is responsible for investment leadership and contributes to the creation and implementation of investment strategies.

“I am grateful to have this opportunity with the Catholic Community Foundation’s Board of Directors, whose members are committed to enhancing the future of our diocese and community. I look forward to continuing the development of support for our parishes, schools, priests, seminaries, Catholic Charities, and our diocesan leadership,” Schuler said.

The foundation also announces the 2022-2024 board officers:

  • Vice chair -- Andrew J. Rebholz, retired CEO at Travel Centers of America
  • Treasurer -- Andrew J. Rebholz, retired CEO at Travel Centers of America
  • Secretary -- Maria O’Neil Ruddock, coordinator of training and outreach services for the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center

Lorraine Dodero, founder and president of the Ohio Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, and Rick Schultz, president/CEO of RMPS Publishing, were named as new members of the CCF Board of Directors.

“Thank you to Rob Rogers for his inspired leadership as board chair. I am pleased to welcome Andy Schuler to this position as well as our newest board leadership and members,” said Patrick Grace, CCF executive director. “In our efforts to provide a myriad of support to diocesan ministries and initiatives, we are extremely fortunate to have such an involved and highly talented board of directors. I am most grateful for their perspectives and support.”

The foundation board is under the direction of Cleveland Bihsop Edward C. Malesic, JCL. The board is responsible for providing leadership to the foundation while demonstrating a commitment to its mission, vision and programs.

The foundation is dedicated to enriching lives by encouraging faithful philanthropy. It supports the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland to provide for the spiritual, educational and charitable needs of people throughout Northeast Ohio. Since its inception in 2000, CCF has raised more than $561 million to support Catholic Charities, Catholic education, priestly formation and other ministries in the diocese.
