The wake for Deacon Philip P. Kamlowsky, retired deacon, will begin with vespers at 3 p.m. Aug. 14 in Holy Family Church, 3179n Kent Road, Stow. Auxiliary Bishop emeritus Roger Gries will preside with Father Joe Mamich as homilist. The wake will continue until 6 p.m.
Bishop Martin Amos, retired bishop of Davenport, Iowa, will celebrate Deacon Kamlowsky’s funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Aug. 15 in Holy Family Church. Father Paul Rosing, Holy Family pastor, will be the homilist.
Deacon Kamlowsky, 78, died Aug. 8.
He was ordained to the permanent diaconate for service to the Diocese of Cleveland by Bishop Anthony Pilla on June 1, 1985 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. After ordination, Deacon Kamlowsky was assigned to Holy Family Parish, where he served until his retirement on 2018.
Those who knew him said Deacon Kamlowsky was dedicated to baptism ministry and loved to preach. He was proud to serve the Church as a deacon and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife Karen (Petit), children and grandchildren.
Interment was at Stow Cemetery.
