The entertainment lineup featured five major Christian artists along with performances that included local cheerleaders, Hispanic dancers, acrobats and traditional African drummers and dancers.
Throughout the day attendees had the opportunity to pray the rosary and spend time in adoration as well as receive a blessing, a Brown Scapular and the sacrament of reconciliation.
The highlight of the event was the outdoor closing Mass celebrated by Bishop Edward Malesic. In the homily, Father Bob Stec, FEST founder and pastor of St. Ambrose Parish in Brunswick, compared the excitement of this year’s event to a high school homecoming with Jesus crowned as king.
The focus on homecoming was further emphasized in signs posted throughout the venue capturing the theme of the event that encouraged attendees to “take hope home” and continue spreading the Holy Spirit by treating everyone with the kindness, mercy and compassion that Jesus showed.
