Nearly 1,000 people visited Camp Christopher on Oct. 22 during the camp’s Fall Festival. The camp is a ministry of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
The popular seasonal festival returned after several years’ absence with a new format offering activities for visitors of all ages.
The family-friendly festival featured trick-or-treating at the cabins; a photo booth; live music provided by three bands: Lady Lyre, Umojah Nation and Freez-r-Burn; face painting; crafts; yard games including bowling, mini golf, cornhole, Connect Four and Giant Jenga; food trucks from Antonio’s Pizza, Eddie’s Famous Cheesesteaks and Henry’s Creamery (artisanal ice cream); raffles; refreshments; a vendor village and the camp store was open selling Camp Christopher merchandise.
Attendees ranged in age from infants to senior citizens with many sporting Halloween costumes.
Proceeds from the event will be used for summer camperships.
Camp Christopher has provided positive recreational experiences for children since 1924. Generations of families have enjoyed the facilities and activities of the camp. During camp sessions campers can participate in horseback riding, fishing, high and low ropes course activities, arts and crafts, swimming and water sports and more.
The camp experience is faith based with Catholic Social Teaching at its foundation.
People of various ages and abilities participate in a variety of camping experiences throughout the year.
