The 70 members of the seminarians, faculty and staff from Saint Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology and Borromeo Seminary who are on a weeklong pilgrimage to Rome began their experience on March 3 by touring St. Peter’s Basilica.
(See photo gallery above.)
After spending the first day of their trip exploring Rome, the seminary group gathered for Mass on March 4 and then prepared for an afternoon tour of the Centro Storico, including Plazza Navona, Campo Dei Fiori, Pantheon, the basilicas of San Agostino, San Agnese, San Andreas, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva and the churches of San Luigi dei Francesi, San Ignacio and Gesu.
They enjoyed lunch as a group and pursued dinner on their own.
The trip is in conjunction with the 175th anniversary of Saint Mary Seminary, which was established in 1848, a year after the Diocese of Cleveland was founded.
