It’s almost that time again. The FEST 2023, a day of faith, family and fun, will take place from noon to 10 p.m. Aug. 6 on the grounds of the Center for Pastoral Leadership, 28700 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe.
After a day filled with family-friendly activities, live music by top Christians bands, food, prayer opportunities, adoration, confession and more, the highlight of the event will be the closing Mass at twilight, about 8 p.m.
Bishop Edward Malesic will be the celebrant with many priests from throughout the diocese concelebrating.
“I invite you to join me for beautiful and inspiring outdoor Mass,” the bishop said in a special video released today. (See the video above.)
He noted that in this year of Eucharistic Revival, “It will be a blessing to join thousands as we gather together at the table of the Lord.”
Theme for The FEST 2023 is “Arise.” Father Bob Stec, pastor of St. Ambrose Parish in Brunswick and founder of The FEST, said the theme is derived from the Gospel for FEST day in which Jesus tells his disciples to “Arise and not to be afraid.”
“These words are so comforting and hopeful for The FEST team,” Father Stec said, explaining that it is an act of faith and trust in the Lord and many other supporters that enables them to produce The FEST and to raise the necessary funds to keep the daylong event free.
