Five priests assigned as high school chaplains

Bishop Edward Malesic assigned a priest chaplain to each of the five diocesan-operated high schools for the 2023-2024 school year.

Father John Paul Kuzma, OFM Cap, of the Capuchin formation program at Borromeo Seminary, was assigned as chaplain for Cleveland Central Catholic High School in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood.

Father Deogratias Ruwaainenyi, parochial vicar at Holy Trinity and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception parishes in Avon, was assigned as chaplain for Elyria Catholic High School in Elyria.

Father Josh Cochrac, parochial vicar at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Parma, is the chaplain for Holy Name High School in Parma Heights.

Father Andy Gonzalez, parochial vicar for St. Gabriel Parish in Concord Township, is the chaplain for Lake Catholic High School in Mentor.

Father Joseph Fortuna, pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Parish and administrator of St. Jerome Parish, both in Cleveland, is the chaplain at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School in Cleveland.
