St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron announced that after conducting a thorough search for its top leadership position, the next school president was already in the STVM family.
Interim President Mark Butterworth was named the new president, effective immediately and with the unanimous support of the STVM executive board.
School officials said Butterworth answered the call to assume the interim president position at a time of great need and in the months since he has reinforced for the entire STVM community that he is driven to best serve the needs of students, faculty and staff while providing a quality education rooted in the Catholic faith and the Marianist charism.
“I believe firmly that we could not have made a better choice than Mark to become our president, and I’m confident that you’ll join me in congratulating him as we eagerly move forward together,” said Ralph Trecaso VM79, STVM executive board chair. “While much work remains to be done, we now have our president in place to lead that work, with full trust that the Lord will continue to see us through with His divine providence, love and wisdom.”
