Work is underway by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland to prepare and distribute 12,000 holiday meals through the annual Easter meals campaign. Meals will be provided free to the community both on site at Catholic Charities’ Bishop Cosgrove Center and by home delivery throughout Greater Cleveland.
“Many people across greater Cleveland are food insecure and do not know where their next meal is coming from,” said Eric Milkie, program director of Catholic Charities’ Bishop Cosgrove Center. “As costs continue to rise, we see the needs within our communities rise as well. That is why Catholic Charities remains committed to addressing the unmet needs in our communities through an integrated system of programs and services that address the whole person.”
Those interested in receiving free, home-delivered holiday meals should register by calling 216-377-3725 or emailing holidays@ccdocle.org. Meal delivery reservations will be accepted until noon on March 28. Meal delivery will take place between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Easter, March 31. When registering for a meal delivery, required information includes name, phone number, address, zip code and the number of meals requested.
Community members are invited to visit Bishop Cosgrove Center, 1736 Superior Ave., Cleveland, for a special holiday meal on March 31. Easter meals will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to serving the individuals and families who visit the Bishop Cosgrove Center, Catholic Charities also will distribute hot meals through approximately 20 community partners that support individuals in need in the surrounding communities.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the holiday meal services and deliveries. Anyone interested in volunteering for the Easter meals can visit ccdocleorg.holidaymeals to view and sign up for available opportunities. Registration is required and March 28 is the deadline for volunteers to sign up.
