The Christ Child Society of Cleveland has chosen Bishop Edward C. Malesic as its “Person of the Year” for 2024. Bishop Malesic will be recognized at the organization’s Starlight Soiree on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the newly renovated Hotel Cleveland (formerly the Renaissance).
The annual Starlight Soiree is a major fundraising event for CCS and features dinner and dancing, a silent auction, wine pull, jewelry raffle and 50/50 raffle.
CCS has worked for more than 107 years to meet the growing needs of children in the Greater Cleveland community. It serves the needs of thousands of children annually through nine programs, which are made possible through the generous financial support of donors and the extensive volunteer support of its members.
CCS works directly with over 80 social service agencies, healthcare facilities, and schools to identify under-resourced, in crisis, and at-risk children who would benefit from its services.
The Society, founded in 1887 in Washington, D.C. by Mary Virginia Merrick, is a national non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need. Its 5,500+ members in 51 chapters across 22 states have been driven by faith, love, and a desire to change the future for these deserving children.
