The diocesan Office of Catholic Education recently held its annual orientation for school principals and administrators who are new to the system of schools in the Cleveland diocese. In total, 18 new school leaders are slated to come aboard for the 2024-2025 school year. While most are from Cleveland, two are joining the system of schools from as far away as California and even Africa.
“Our whole team was extremely impressed and inspired by everyone at the two-day event,” remarked Trace Arnone, associate superintendent. “Many have very interesting backgrounds and charisms that will add much value to the schools that they are serving.”
The first day of this year’s program was much like a retreat while the second day focused on introducing the new leaders to the diocesan staff and giving them the lay of the land in terms of the Cathedral Square offices.
The introductory meeting is an annual event held in late July and kicks off the education office’s program known as CLASS, which stands for Catholic Leadership Academy for Successful Schools. Tracey says the year-long program consists of group meetings and monthly visits. “It’s a way to walk with our new school leaders that first year to ensure they are successful and have the support they need,” she added.
