Bishop Edward C. Malesic is pleased to announce that Mr. Kevin R. Krencisz, CPA, will be joining the finance office of the diocese on Dec. 2. He will succeed James Gulick in the role of chief financial officer upon his retirement in February 2025, after more than 14 years of service.
Krencisz comes to the diocese from the Cleveland Sight Center, where he served the last 14 years as executive vice president and chief financial officer. In this role, he was responsible financial management, human resources, information technology, facilities and fundraising, and other executive leadership functions. Previously, Krencisz spent more than 15 years in public accounting, with industry specialization in not-for-profit, manufacturing, service and construction clients throughout Northeast Ohio.
In his role as CFO for the diocese, Krencisz will provide financial counsel to Bishop Malesic and manage all financial functions and staff in the diocesan finance office, including insurance/risk management, information technology, human resources, facilities and financial support services for parishes and schools.
“We are grateful for the 14-plus years of service of Mr. Gulick, who has been a great help to the diocese, to me and the other bishops under which he served, and to our parishes,” said Bishop Malesic. “We also are blessed to have Mr. Krencisz join the diocesan leadership team, and we look forward to working with him as he applies his experience and expertise in guiding our financial and other business functions.”
Gulick remains with the diocese to transition Krencisz into his new position through Feb. 7, 2025.
“It has been my privilege and blessing to serve the diocese for over 14 years. I am grateful to the four bishops who entrusted me with this role, and deeply thankful for all of the clergy and diocesan staff whom I have worked with so closely," Gulick said.
Commenting on his new role, Krencisz said, “Joining the Diocese of Cleveland is an exciting and humbling opportunity both professionally and personally on my faith journey. I am looking forward to serving Bishop Malesic and the clergy and lay staff of the diocese, and continuing the work of faithfully stewarding resources and supporting diocesan parishes, schools, and other ministries.”
Krencisz earned executive MBA and accounting degrees from Cleveland State University. He is very active at his parish, St. John Neumann, serving on the parish and finance councils, as a lector and extraordinary minister of holy Communion and a CYO coach.
He and his wife Dawn live in Strongsville with their three children.
