The Lord says in Isaiah, “Lo, I am about to create new heavens and a new earth.”
The royal official in today’s Gospel certainly experienced God’s new creation when Jesus healed his dying son. Jesus gave new life to this youngster – and new life to his dad.
We pray for new life in so many ways for ourselves. We want health of mind, body and soul. Only Jesus can completely restore us to life and restore our vigor.
Let’s pray for something new and exciting to happen to us. At this time of year, and as the ground begins to show signs of green plants pushing through dead earth, we can remember that God renews us over and over again. Let’s ask the Lord to create us anew as we approach the joyful feast of Easter.
