The funeral Mass for Deacon Hardin Martin was celebrated on May 20 in St. Agnes/Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cleveland. The celebrant and homilist was Father James Watson, OFM Cap, pastor.
Deacon Martin, 82, died on May 13. Survivors include his wife, Rosary (Henry), children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was ordained to the permanent diaconate for service to the Diocese of Cleveland by Bishop Anthony Pilla on May 7, 2003, in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
After ordination, Deacon Martin was assigned to St. Cecilia Parish in Cleveland. On June 1, 2009, he was assigned to Epiphany Parish in Cleveland. Deacon Martin was assigned to minister at St. Agnes/Our Lady of Fatima Parish on May 7, 2010, where he remained until his death.
Those who knew him said Deacon Martin will be remembered for his dedication and service to the people of the parishes he served as well as his ministry to the sick and dying.
The wake took place May 19 in St. Agnes/Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Interment was at Highland Park Cemetery in Highland Heights.
