Members of the seminary (Borromeo and Saint Mary) community, lay ecclesial ministry and permanent diaconate formation programs were among those attending the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit Aug. 23 in Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd Chapel at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe.

The Mass, which traditionally begins each new formation year, was celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost. Concelebrants included Father Andy Turner, president/rector of the seminaries, Father Mick Joyce, OFM Cap, Father Bill Bouhall and Father David Bline. Assisting at the altar was Deacon George Malec, who directs the permanent diaconate formation program.
Many of those in formation, as well as seminary faculty and staff, attended the liturgy.
“We are one spirit, one Church,” Bishop Woost told the assembly. Echoing the words of St. Paul, he urged them to “Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.”
A lunch in the CPL Founder’s Room followed the liturgy.
The CPL houses all the ministry formation programs for the diocese, which includes Borromeo and Saint Mary seminaries, permanent diaconate formation, lay ecclesial ministry and Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd Institute.
