It was a picture-perfect day as a large crowd descended on Camp Christopher in Bath for the annual Fall Fest. Parents, grandparents and children of all ages took advantage of the sunny, 80-degree day to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities at the camp, a ministry of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.

Among those spotted at the event was Jim Mullen, president and CEO of Catholic Charities, who attended Fall Fest with his family.

“What a perfect day for Fall Fest,” Mullen said, as he looked around the spacious campgrounds.

Visitors drove into the camp’s festively decorated entrance and then were guided to parking spaces by volunteers. They checked in at the registration tent, where everyone got a Fall Fest sticker. Those participating in the scavenger hunt got a map and a paper with 15 questions to complete. Some questions required hunting for an item and attaching a sticker to the paper, while others were fill-in-the-blank questions. Completed sheets were dropped off at the dining hall, where participants received a ticket entering them into a raffle for a Camp Christopher basket.

There was an area featuring family-friendly games, trick-or-treating around the campgrounds, a small petting zoo, a photo opp where visitors could measure their height, candy stations, vendor and craft tables, raffle baskets to support Catholic Charities Summit County, a magic show, improv show, six hay rides throughout the afternoon, face painting, a balloon artist and more. Visitors also could climb on a tractor and pose for photos. The camp store was open selling camp merchandise, popcorn and adult beverages.

Some children wore their Halloween costumes and took part in the late-afternoon costume contest on the beach.

Event organizers said planning will begin soon for the next Fall Fest, scheduled for 1-6 p.m. Oct. 17, 2026.
