Catholic Charities calls on community to join in emergency food support

As thousands of families across Northeast Ohio face sudden food insecurity following federal cuts to SNAP benefits, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is providing additional food resources to meet the urgent need.

Thanks to the generous support of the Humble Heart Gentle Soul Foundation, Catholic Charities will provide additional food resources to help families bridge the gap during this crisis. Across the eight counties of the Diocese of Cleveland, more than 360,000 individuals have been directly impacted by the reduction in benefits, many of them turning to Catholic Charities for the first time.

“We are seeing families who have never needed help before,” said Jim Mullen, president and CEO of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. “Thanks to the partnership with Humble Heart Gentle Soul Foundation, we can respond quickly to ensure that no one faces hunger alone. But we need the community’s help to sustain this effort.”

Catholic Charities regional sites, family centers and emergency assistance service sites are ramping up to help those in need. Resources are limited, and community support is essential to continue meeting the growing demand.

Those in need of additional food assistance can visit or contact any of the sites listed below for more information.

Catholic Charities invites individuals, corporations and faith communities to step up and join this effort. Every dollar makes a difference in ensuring our neighbors have enough to eat.
