The solemn Good Friday procession will return to Cleveland’s West Side on April 3.
The event is a tradition in the Hispanic Catholic community of the Diocese of Cleveland. In the past, more than 100 people have joined the procession that visits three Hispanic Catholic churches. Some walk the entire route; some visit one or two churches and some with health issues drive to the churches and meet the group for prayer.

Auxiliary Bishop Michael Woost plans to join the faithful as they gather first at Sagrada Familia, 7719 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, where the group will pray before forming the procession. As they leave the church, they will walk through the parish hall and trample/destroy the sawdust Carpets of Holy Week. (See related story.)
During the walk between churches, those in the procession will sing and pray the rosary. Bishop Woost, acolytes and members of the clergy will lead the procession, with Cleveland Police escorting the group as they walk between the churches. At each church, the faithful will stop to rest and pray.

The second stop will be St. Colman Church, 2027 W. 65th St., Cleveland, for the next part of the Passion liturgy.
Their final stop will be St. Michael the Archangel Church, 3114 Scranton Road, Cleveland, for the conclusion of the liturgy.
