The sorrowful path of Judas continues.

At the Passover meal—the night of remembrance, gratitude, and liberation—all the apostles are gathered, celebrating the God who once freed their ancestors from slavery. The table is set with solemn joy. It is at that meal that Jesus foretells his betrayal by one of their number.

Peter asks the painful question: “Master, who is it?”

Jesus replies quietly: “It is the one to whom I hand the morsel after I have dipped it.”

The betrayer is not a stranger. He is a friend. He is one who eats at the same table.

Every sin we commit carries a trace of this betrayal. Perhaps not with the same historical weight—but causing no less sorrow to the heart of Christ.

All of us have sinned. All of us are called to repentance. A sincere act of contrition—born of love for God and a desire to return—opens the door to mercy.

If you have not yet done so, this is a good time to seek reconciliation through sacramental confession. The Lord is waiting to embrace you with his love.
