The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland is partnering with Cleveland nonprofit the Values-in-Action Foundation on its national Kindland, “United States of Kindness,” initiative in celebration of the nation’s 250thanniversary.
The diocese joins this call to action to encourage Catholics throughout its eight counties to be intentional in performing acts of kindness throughout the remainder of the year and into the future. By demonstrating and sharing acts of kindness, people inspire others to do the same.
The United States of Kindness, launched in 2026, invites Americans nationwide to complete 250 acts of kindness and share their kindness stories as we unite as a country to build a visible culture of compassion, connection and unity throughout this year and beyond.
“This effort aligns with our commitment to service, connection and making a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Bishop Edward Malesic.
“Kindness is not soft. It is strength,” said Stuart Muszynski, Values-in-Action founder. “The United States of Kindness exists to elevate the good that is already happening and inspire more of it. Partners like the Diocese of Cleveland show what leadership through kindness looks like in action.”
Through this partnership, many acts of kindness happening throughout the Diocese and across Northeast Ohio will be shared, as well as encouraging and celebrating acts of kindness among diocesan employees, parishes, schools and the broader Catholic community.
