Ten years ago, Bishop Richard Lennon wanted an evangelization tool that could reach people throughout the eight-county Diocese of Cleveland. His vision was a publication that would share inspirational stories and help connect people with their faith. Northeast Ohio Catholic launched in October 2015, and since then, thousands of stories have been told about how faith has helped people cope with adversity and to find their way in a sometimes-chaotic world.
As Northeast Ohio Catholic magazine celebrates its first decade, here is an update on a few video updates of the previously published stories. Click here to the anniversary issue including more updates from featured stories.
Eddie and his family were featured as the cover story in the January/February 2025 edition of Northeast Ohio Catholic in a multimedia presentation that included an article and companion video. Both showed how Eddie and his family found an educational fit at Julie Billiart School in Westlake, which serves children with special needs in a Catholic school environment. The story mentioned Eddie’s fascination with clocks and included a photo of him with one of his favorites, which caught the eye of magazine reader Charlotte Banasik.

In the July/August 2021 magazine, readers learned about Robbie Boyce, who survived a near-fatal stroke at age 16. Northeast Ohio Catholic caught up with Robbie, now 21, this summer as he spent hours intently peering through a microscope studying specimens filled with tiny blood vessels. He worked as a volunteer student researcher in a lab at the Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute, assisting with studies about blood vessel development in the eyes and brain.
