8th Grade Teacher (Religion & Social Studies) St. Sebastian Parish School Akron, Ohio Position Overview St. Sebastian Parish School is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated, and qualified educator to serve as an 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher for the upcoming school year. This position includes teaching Religion to 8th grade students and Social Studies to both 7th and 8th grade students. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering academic excellence while supporting the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth of students in a Catholic school environment.

Responsibilities Serve as an 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher. Teach Religion to both 8th grade classes in accordance with the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church. Teach Social Studies to students in grades 7 and 8. Integrate Catholic values and faith formation throughout instruction and daily interactions. Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with diocesan and state standards. Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment. Assess student learning and communicate progress regularly with parents and administration. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parish community members to support the mission of the school. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, school events, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church (required). Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Valid teaching license/certification or ability to obtain appropriate certification. Strong knowledge of middle school instructional practices and classroom management. Ability to teach Religion and Social Studies effectively to adolescent learners. Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Sebastian Parish School. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous middle school teaching experience. Experience teaching Religion and/or Social Studies. Familiarity with technology integration in the classroom. ****Salary is dependent on years of teaching and relevant experience with this grade level.
