Elyria Catholic High School is seeking a Building Substitute.
Founded in 1947 by Monsignor William Newton, Elyria Catholic High School has been shaping the next generation of saints and leaders for over 75 years. As the only Catholic high school in Lorain County, we take pride in being a close-knit, faith-filled community where students are known, challenged, and supported. With 530 students in grades nine through twelve, we provide a personalized education that nurtures both mind and heart. Job duties:
- Effectively managing a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged.
- Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
- Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
- Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours.
- Maintain a positive learning environment.
- Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher.
- Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned (ie. Cafeteria Supervision).
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Must hold a valid Teaching or Substitute license, or willingness to obtain a Substitute
- License through the Ohio Department of Education.
- Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education.
- Familiarity with the teachings, traditions, and policies, which apply to formation and development of high school-aged youth.
- Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
