Padua Franciscan High School is seeking a full-time Elementary music director to join the Padua Performing Arts Staff to teach instrumental music. The Elementary Music Director is a full-time position that implements a sequenced program primarily through instrumental music lessons and ensemble rehearsals at seven Catholic elementary schools for the Padua Franciscan Academy Elementary Instrumental Music Program. Collaboration with other music colleagues and well-developed communication skills are necessary for success in this role. Beyond regular teaching responsibilities, this role includes additional administrative tasks such as creating schedules, managing music equipment/instrumental rentals, and organizing financial information.
REQUIREMENTS Thorough knowledge of best practices in teaching orchestral strings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Well-organized and committed Strong moral values and discipline Degree in Music Education Willing and able to travel between buildings when necessary Willing to complete Virtus training Teaching experience preferred The successful applicant maintains a valid teaching certification in music K-12, can provide instruction for instruments including violin, viola, cello and bass, is highly motivated and organized, and is self-regulating.
