POSITION SUMMARY

St. Gabriel School is seeking a qualified and compassionate Teacher Assistant to work alongside classroom teachers and support students as they learn and grow.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, compassionate, flexible, and committed to positively impacting students each day while supporting the mission of St. Gabriel School.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church.

• Associate degree or higher preferred.

• Experience working with primary-age students.

• Ability to obtain VIRTUS certification.

• Successful completion of FBI and BCI background checks.

• Willingness to complete additional certifications as required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist classroom teachers with assigned duties and specialized tasks.

• Provide individual and small-group instruction to support student learning and adapt curriculum to students' needs.

• Work one-on-one with students as needed.

• Assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

• Help implement school policies and rules governing student life and conduct.

• Support students with learning challenges and behavioral needs.

• Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, parents, administrators, and staff members.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
