Job Title: Custodian (PT)

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Position Summary:The Custodian is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe facilities. This role supports the daily operations of the school by performing general cleaning, light groundskeeping, and event setup to create a welcoming environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning & Sanitizing: Clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and common areas, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.

• Safety & Security: Secure facilities by locking doors and closing windows; monitor for safety hazards and report maintenance needs to the supervisor.

• Waste Management: Empty trash, clean receptacles, and transport waste to designated dumpster areas.

• Groundskeeping: Sweep sidewalks and entryways; pick up litter as needed. • Supply Management: Maintain orderly janitorial closets; monitor and report supply needs.

• Event Support: Set up and break down furniture for school events and after-school activities as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods of time.

• Ability to lift, carry and push up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.

• Familiarity with SDS/chemical safety standards.

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Positive workplace attitude.

• Required: Virtus training and BCI/FBI background check.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Occasional additional hours may be required for special events.

Compensation and Benefits:

$15.00 to $17.00 per hour ( depending on experience)

This is a part-time position and does not include benefits.
