Director of Faith Formation for Youth

The Director of Faith Formation for Youth provides leadership for the parish's faith formation ministry for children, adolescents, and their families. Working collaboratively with the Pastor, parish staff, volunteers, and parents, this position develops and oversees programs that foster lifelong discipleship, sacramental preparation, evangelization, and active participation in parish life.
The Director ensures that all faith formation programs faithfully reflect the teachings of the Catholic Church, diocesan guidelines, and the pastoral mission of the parish while creating a welcoming environment where children, youth, and families can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Provide vision and leadership for the parish's faith formation programs for children and youth.
Direct the Parish School of Religion (PSR), including curriculum, registration, scheduling, and program evaluation.
Coordinate preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, including parent meetings, retreats, and sacramental celebrations.
Develop engaging faith formation opportunities for middle school and high school students, including retreats, service projects, prayer experiences, and youth events.
Support parents as the primary educators of their children's faith through family faith formation and regular communication.
Recruit, train, supervise, and support catechists and volunteers while ensuring compliance with diocesan Safe Environment requirements.
Prepare and manage the annual faith formation budget and oversee program resources.
Maintain accurate student, sacramental, and ministry records.
Collaborate with parish staff, clergy, Catholic schools, and diocesan offices to support parish-wide ministries and initiatives.
Represent the parish at diocesan meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.
Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry, Education, or a related field.
Experience in parish ministry, Catholic education, youth ministry, or religious education.
Strong knowledge of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, liturgy, and sacramental preparation.
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and parish management software.
Master's degree in Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field.
Diocesan certification in catechetical leadership.
Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
