Cleveland Central Catholic High School:

Founded in 1969, Cleveland Central Catholic High School is a diocesan-owned, co-educational, comprehensive high school with a focus on college and career readiness, committed to leading young adults to Christ in an environment where they are learning to lead and preparing to serve. With a population of 430 students in grades nine through twelve, Cleveland Central Catholic High School provides young women and men with a nurturing and supportive educational environment in which to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and morally.

Position Summary:

Cleveland Central Catholic is seeking interested and qualified candidates who are mission-driven, tenacious, consistently engaging, adaptable, caring, and model excellence. The full-time teaching schedule involves co-teaching in an inclusive classroom as well as teaching study skills or social skills to special needs students. In addition, Intervention Specialists report on present levels of performance, create IEP goals and objectives, and prepare quarterly reports for the students on their case loads.

Classes are scheduled during the school year, Monday through Friday, following the school’s daily schedule.

Candidates will work closely with regular education teachers. Embracing the professional learning community model, the expectation is that all students can and do learn at Cleveland Central Catholic High School.

Essential Job Functions:

• Understand and witness the school and diocesan mission.
• Teach and co-teach courses by implementing the curriculum in accordance with the standards set forth by the Diocese of Cleveland and the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
• Assist students with progress toward IEP and SP goals.
• Utilize a variety of instructional methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Create a classroom and school environment that enables students to reach their full potential.
• Use student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Integrate technology to improve student learning.
• Commit to continually improving instructional practice.
• Work collaboratively with students and coworkers.
• Communicate proactively and professionally with parents.
• Adhere to school and diocesan policies and procedures.
• Attend school functions as determined by the Principal.

Qualifications:

• Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive, or Related Field (Master’s preferred)
• Current Ohio teaching license or willingness to obtain teaching certification
• Energy and enthusiasm for working with and developing students for success in high school and beyond
• Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education
• Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
