  • Compensation: $150 per day

Position Summary

Saint Martin de Porres High School is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and self-driven Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to join its innovative college-preparatory and career-readiness program through May 2027.

Candidates should have proven experience successfully working with high school-aged students and be committed to a student-centered approach to education.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Embrace the Saint Martin Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles, as well as the Cristo Rey Network Standards of Mission Effectiveness.

  • Provide student-centered instruction that supports academic achievement and college and career readiness.

  • Participate in professional learning teams that promote collaboration, peer review, and multidisciplinary lesson planning.

  • Develop lesson plans in accordance with the school's innovative curriculum.

  • Submit lesson plans weekly and unit plans quarterly.

  • Model a work ethic characterized by diligence, persistence, and dedication.

  • Remain flexible as the school continues to develop innovative educational policies, programs, and curriculum.

  • Use informal and formal assessments to adjust classroom instruction and support and track student learning.

  • Embrace the school's mission and beliefs concerning student learning.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

  • Participate in Corporate Work Study Program and Admissions events as assigned.

Education Requirements

  • Ohio teaching licensure preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

  • At least one year of successful teaching experience in an urban environment preferred.

  • Demonstrated success working with high school-aged students.

About Saint Martin de Porres High School

Saint Martin de Porres High School is part of the Cristo Rey Network of Catholic schools designed exclusively for students of modest means. Its Corporate Work Study Program provides students with real-world work experience while they receive a college-preparatory education.
