Maintenance and Custodial Assistant

DESCRIPTION: This part-time position will assist maintenance personnel of the parish in various aspects of work that involve maintaining the parish grounds, including custodial work and maintenance for the church building, administrative building, rectory, and the grounds in general. 16 hours/week, non-exempt. Pay-rate: $19 - $22 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in various tasks under the supervision of parish maintenance personnel, which may include work such as garbage removal, cleaning of floors, hallways, offices, etc., re-stocking and cleaning restrooms, setting up/tearing down tables and chairs, snow removal, working with vendors/getting quotes, minor maintenance issues and repairs, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be physically apt for manual labor, able to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, use basic maintenance and lawn equipment, have minimally a basic skillset in plumbing and electrical work, is a clear communicator, able to be flexible with schedule, able to work in rough weather conditions, can work well with people and have a respectful demeanor, willing to learn and be trained in maintenance work, and is considerate of the Catholic faith and church environment.

Specific Qualifications: - Minimal experience in general maintenance work such as electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, minor repairs, etc. - Experience in general custodial work such as mopping, buffing, and waxing floors, cleaning restroom and kitchen areas, etc. - Able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Able to climb ladders
