Position Summary

Saint Colette Catholic Church, a vibrant, family-centered parish serving approximately 2,100 families in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, seeks a passionate disciple of Jesus Christ to serve in its Music Ministry as a Part-Time Staff Pianist.

The Staff Pianist will accompany one or more weekend Masses and help support the parish’s liturgical life through skilled piano performance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable playing a variety of musical styles and committed to supporting a prayerful and welcoming worship environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accompany one or more Masses each weekend.

  • Provide piano accompaniment for scheduled liturgies, with preferred availability for Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings.

  • Be available, as possible, for Easter and Holy Week, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Masses, and other solemnities.

  • Perform solo repertoire on occasion, as opportunities arise.

  • Provide music for weddings and funerals, which are compensated separately from Masses.

  • Support the parish’s Music Ministry through reliable preparation and appropriate musical accompaniment.

Weekend Mass Schedule

Saint Colette Catholic Church celebrates weekend Masses at the following times:

  • Saturday: 4:00 PM

  • Sunday: 8:00 AM

  • Sunday: 10:00 AM

  • Sunday: 11:45 AM

Availability for Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning Masses is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Proper piano training.

  • Ability to sight-read music.

  • Ability to play traditional, classical, and contemporary music.

  • Availability for Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas liturgies.

  • Willingness to respect the teachings of the Catholic Church and adhere to the protocols of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in piano performance or a related field, or currently pursuing a music degree.

  • Flexibility in performing various styles of sacred music.

  • Vocal or additional instrumental skills are welcome.

  • Catholic background preferred but not required.

Compensation

  • Pianists are compensated for each Mass.

  • Separate stipends are available for weddings and funerals.

  • Additional opportunities to perform solo repertoire may be available.
