Full-Time
St. Augustine Parish is seeking a faith-filled and enthusiastic Youth Minister / Religious Education Facilitator to lead and coordinate faith formation opportunities for children, youth, and families. Working closely with the Pastor and parish staff, this individual will provide leadership for the Parish School of Religion (PSR), youth ministry, sacramental preparation, and parish faith formation initiatives while fostering a welcoming environment that encourages lifelong discipleship.
The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with a passion for evangelization, catechesis, and accompanying young people as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church.
Direct and oversee the Parish School of Religion (PSR) for preschool through high school students.
Recruit, train, supervise, and support catechists and sacramental preparation volunteers.
Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging catechetical programs that faithfully reflect Catholic teaching.
Create individualized faith formation opportunities for parishioners with special religious education needs.
Maintain catechist certification records and provide ongoing formation opportunities.
Plan, organize, and lead youth ministry programs for middle school and high school students.
Develop meaningful opportunities for prayer, service, fellowship, and discipleship.
Encourage youth participation in parish life, liturgy, and the sacramental life of the Church.
Foster leadership opportunities for youth and young adults within the parish community.
Assist the Pastor and parish leadership in planning and preparing sacramental celebrations and youth liturgical events.
Support religious education instruction within the parish school.
Meet regularly with the Pastor and parish staff to assess and address parish catechetical needs.
Develop and maintain the annual calendar for faith formation programs, sacramental preparation, and youth ministry events.
Participate in parish, diocesan, staff, and catechetical ministry meetings.
Coordinate the parish VIRTUS Safe Environment program and background check process.
Maintain accurate program records and confidential information.
Assist with adult faith formation opportunities and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
Utilize Microsoft Office and parish technology resources to support ministry operations and communication.
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church, as affirmed by your pastor.
Commitment to the mission and values of St. Augustine Parish and the Catholic Church.
Leadership ability in youth ministry, catechesis, and volunteer development.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with parish staff and volunteers.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic audiovisual technology.
Experience in parish ministry, religious education, youth ministry, or Catholic education.
Experience recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers.
Familiarity with diocesan catechetical certification processes and Safe Environment requirements.
