Crews are prepping the scene shot
right outside the cathedral Traffic congestion, huge cranes and a car crash (staged) have come to East 9th Street and Superior Ave right outside the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. From crew members to extras to a possible sighting of some of the movie's stars (or maybe their stunt doubles), the area surrounding the cathedral and near the offices of the Diocese are abuzz with excitement.
A large crane assists
in some behind the
scenes movie magic. On Wednesday morning, the crew for Captain America: The Winter Solider filmed a crash scene feet from the cathedrals doors. (Click here for Channel 5 coverage of the scene) Want to know more? You may have to wait for its release next spring.
While many of the diocesan staff and visitors to the nearby buildings have been slightly inconvenienced in driving, parking and getting to the office, please know that it is still business as usually at the cathedral and the chancery (even if you have to take a few more steps or blocks to get here).
