Bishop Nelson Perez will lead a memorial prayer service at 7:30 p.m. April 28 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Cleveland to remember all victims -- living and deceased -- of the Sri Lanka bombings that occurred on Easter.
Members of the ecumenical and interfaith religious leadership will join Bishop Perez, along with people of the Sri Lankan community and other Catholics, to express support for the living who face challenges as a result of the acts of violence and to pray for those who died during the tragedy.
The service of prayer and reflection will include the Sri Lankan Choir of Greater Cleveland.
On April 24, Bishop Perez released a statement on the terrorist attacks stating, “I ask all people of good will to join me in prayer for those who died, those who were injured and their families. We also remember all Sri Lankans – including those in our diocese – in prayer during this difficult time.”
This service is open to all people and religions throughout Northeast Ohio. Find information HERE on the event page.
The cathedral is at 1007 Superior Ave., Cleveland.
