Paulist Father Dave Dwyer, host of the popular “Busted Halo Show” on Sirius XM Channel 129, the Catholic Channel, visited Cleveland on July 25 for “Beer, Brats and Busted Halos.”

The Theology on Tap Downtown event was attended by young adults and radio show fans from as far away as Michigan.

Father Dave, as he is known, answered questions of faith and recorded the answers for replay on his show, which airs 6-8 p.m. weekdays. He also promoted the event on his show.

The group socialized and enjoyed beer and brats before the program, which was hosted by historic St. Peter Parish in downtown Cleveland. After the program, Father Dave celebrated 7 p.m. Mass in St. Peter Church.

Busted Halo, a ministry of the Paulist Fathers, is a media resource that helps people understand the Catholic faith, put it into practice in their daily lives and share it with others. The ministry has a vision for a more joyful and meaningful experience of Catholicism that positively impacts people’s lives. It uses articles, video, podcasts, radio and social media platforms to connect with people.

Mike Hayes, director of young adult ministry for the diocese, helped coordinate the program at St Peter’s. He is one of the founders of Busted Halo and hosts “5 Questions with the Paulists.”

Hayes has spent his entire ministry career working with young adults in retreat, spiritual direction and campus ministry. He also is the author of “Googling God” and “Loving Work.”

Young adult ministry accompanies those who are ages 18-39 on their journey of faith and connects them to the Church. It also creates parish collaboratives offering opportunities for young adults within a parish structure as well as providing spiritual development opportunities and more.
