The September edition of the Northeast Ohio Catholic Report is up and running. It leads off with a parishioner from Immaculate Conception Parish in Willoughby sharing a harrowing childhood experience.
Now 27 years old, Kwami Adoboe-Herrera recounts how he suffered abuse from an extended family member who brought him to the United States from Africa at age 7. Kwami credits his Catholic faith with giving him the grace to forgive his abuser and to become an advocate for survivors of human trafficking.
The newscast also recaps some of Bishop Edward Malesic’s key summertime activities and features snippets from one of the most memorable events of the summer: the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The report closes with the inspiring story of one of the 250 delegates who attended the big event. Mary Semancik of Holy Spirit Parish in Avon Lake chronicles her path to the Congress. Her journey began with the death of her husband and ended with her coming to fully appreciate the living power of Jesus in the Eucharist.
The Northeast Ohio Catholic Report is released digitally at the end of each quarter to highlight key events from the past three months and to showcase people putting their faith into action. It serves as the video companion to the diocesan magazine, Northeast Ohio Catholic, and is part of the award-winning multimedia content created by the diocesan communications teams.
