Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Office of Catholic Education names Suzanne Lester as Associate Superintendent for Elementary Schools

Cleveland, OH — The Diocese of Cleveland’s Office of Catholic Education has appointed Suzanne Lester as the next Associate Superintendent for Elementary Schools.

Lester will provide leadership and support to the diocesan elementary schools across the eight counties of the Diocese of Cleveland, guiding principals, supporting pastors, strengthening collaborative initiatives, and advancing the mission-centered formation that defines Catholic education in the region. She will also serve as a member of the Catholic school leadership team under Frank O’Linn, Ed.D., Secretary for Education and Superintendent of Schools, contributing to ongoing efforts to strengthen and sustain Catholic education throughout the diocese.

A seasoned Catholic school leader with more than 18 years of administrative experience, Lester has served in diverse school communities and is known for her commitment to mission-driven leadership, collaborative culture-building, and data-informed instructional improvement. Her experience includes leading strategic planning, accreditation processes, faculty development, and initiatives that support student growth academically, spiritually, and personally.

Lester is currently the principal of Elyria Catholic High School a role she has held since 2016. Prior experience includes five years as principal at St. Jude School, the elementary school of St. Jude Parish in Elyria, following three years as assistant principal. Lester shared, “I feel called to serve in this position because I find deep joy in helping and ministering to others as they grow. I am energized by serving as a change agent and feel called to this role as part of my own ministry in Catholic education within the Diocese of Cleveland.”

Her appointment will begin on July 1, 2026.
