Meet Our Missionaries

The Culture Project is an initiative of young people set out to restore culture through the experience of virtue. The Cleveland missionary team is dedicated to sharing messages of respecting the dignity of a human person and living a life of sexual integrity with those in middle schools, high schools and parish youth ministry groups. 

Jimmy Schomburg

Jimmy Schomburg is a 2024 graduate of Huntingdon College with a BA in History. He grew up in Decatur, Alabama and has lived in Alabama all his life. Jimmy heard about The Culture Project from his mom, but at the time, he wasn’t interested. It wasn’t until a few years later when he met some of their awesome missionaries at the SEEK24 conference that he began to think that this was something he could do after college. Having witnessed the horrendous damage to our culture firsthand while at college, Jimmy was inspired by The Culture Project’s message of hope and decided he wanted to bring that message to others. “I truly believe that it is groups like The Culture Project who will bring about a genuine renewal of our broken society. I became a missionary because I want to be a part of that renewal. ”

Nya Hernandez

Nya Hernandez is a 2025 summer graduate from Texas A&M University with a bachelors in Biology with a concentration of Marine Biology. She was born in Arlington, Texas but has spent most of her life in San Antonio where she lived with her family of 5 until she moved to Corpus Christi, Texas for college. Nya heard about The Culture Project from her first SEEK conference her freshman year of college but didn't discern being a missionary until her senior year of college. The mission of The Culture Project really stuck out to her and she knew that in her heart that the Lord was calling to serve Him in this particular way with this particular mission. She gave an immediate yes to the offer she received from The Culture Project saying, "I haven't been so excited to begin something so important and impactful in a long time, if ever. I feel like I have been in formation for this mission my whole life."

Peyton Voorheis

Peyton Voorheis is a native Virginian, a cradle Catholic, and a lover of stories. She grew up in a family with a heart for hosting and supporting missionaries. In college, she was invited to learn more about Theology of the Body. While working on her degree in elementary and special education, she learned about The Culture Project and felt called to join the mission. After graduating in the spring of 2026, she looks forward to working as a missionary with The Culture Project, sharing what she has learned about Theology of the Body and how God has used it in her life.

Hannah Baril

Hannah Baril graduated from Texas Tech University (wreck’em!) in December of 2025 where she earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. She grew up in a suburb north of Dallas, TX with her big, loving family. Throughout college, she was heavily involved in her campus Catholic Student Center. Hannah first found out about The Culture Project at a SEEK conference through brief interactions with the missionaries which led to God planting the seed and placing them in her path over the next two years. She chose The Culture Project because she fell in love with the community that the missionaries had with each other and for the mission of reminding teens who they are and what they were made for. “In a world full of lies about the human person, it is important that there are voices speaking truth into the dignity that our lives have and the love that we were created with. I am honored that God has called me to be one of those voices, serving as a CP missionary.”
