Bishop Malesic celebrated an Opening Liturgy on Sunday, October 17 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist which began the diocesan phase of the three-year synodal journey of consultations and discernment (watch the homily below). All baptized Catholics were invited participate in this process of listening, dreaming, and discerning God’s call for the Church amid the present signs of the times. The diocesan discernment concluded with a “Pre-Synodal Gathering” on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Over 250 delegates gathered to pray, share, listen and discern our next steps on this synodal journey together.
