The Diocesan Memorandum (formerly the Clergy Memorandum) is a service of the Office of the Chancellor for clergy and lay leadership of the Diocese of Cleveland, providing a summary of relevant and timely information from the Office of the Bishop and other diocesan offices.

July 4 is Friday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time. The Mass for Independence Day is used. For the general intercessions, one may use the adaptation of the prayer composed by Archbishop John Carroll for the inauguration of George Washington, as found in the Book of Blessings, #1965.

All priests, deacons, and lay ecclesial ministers are invited to be trained for this ministry, and all parishes are encouraged to have at least one trained staff member. We are currently hiring for two positions. The Director of the Office of Human Life will assist parishes and other diocesan organizations to carry out efforts that support a Consistent Ethic of Life. Requirements include a master's degree in pastoral theology or related field, and at least five years previous work experience in a parish or institutional/organizational setting.
We are also seeking a Marriage & Family Ministry Specialist to organize, develop, and support ministry programs that respond to the needs of couples and families as they live out their Catholic faith. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in theology or related field, and at least 3-5 years of experience in ministry experience/training.

Lourdes in CLE: Teen Jubilee Pilgrimage

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the promulgation of Gaudium et Spes in December, 2025, the Diocesan Social Action Office has produced a video discussing the document’s influence on Catholic Social Teaching.
